

Women Of Tomorrow
She came up to me after a meditation/mindfulness group she participated in of teens who were part of the Women of Tomorrow. She said, “can I ask you something"? Do you do this other places here in Miami? I replied, “tell me, what’s going on"? She said, “I have really bad social anxiety, and I don’t talk to anyone at school, I just can’t”. I said, “well, you’re talking to me right now so its possible”. She had the courage to come and say something so personal and painful


No One Ever Asked me How I Felt Before…
7 years ago when I began this path of offering mindfulness to kids in schools, one exchange with a second grade little girl has stayed in the foreground of my mind. She raised her hand during an emotional intelligence assessment I gave the class that showed what changed during the program. She motioned for me to come over, and when I did she whispered, “Nikki, no one has ever asked me how I felt before”. I remember the beautiful pause that arose after she said her truth as


Slow Down
Texts, emails, facebook, facebook messenger, linkendin, twitter, blogs, instagram and more. Ahhhhhhh, just writing that tenses my neck! There’s so much to keep up with it seems and slowing down can feel like an impossibility when there’s a strong pull to do do do. New Beginnings
New Beginnings come with many thoughts, sensations, feelings, memories, hopes, fears, expectations, aspirations, and dreams. Each breath is a new beginning. Each inhale we been anew. At the end of each exhale we begin again. Every moment is an opportunity for a new beginning. Thank goodness! This knowing brings sweetness to bitter moments, because that next moment is literally right there.
